ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —Helen Greiner, co-founder of iRobot, and Vayl S. Oxford, director of the Domestic Nuclear Detection Office, are confirmed keynote speakers for the American Nuclear Society Joint Topical Conference on Emergency Management and Robotics for Hazardous Environments to be held in Albuquerque March 9-12.

The conference and exhibition is a forum for reviewing scientific, technical, social and regulatory aspects of emergency management and robotic applications in hazardous environments. Issues to be discussed in workshops are preparedness planning and coordination between responsible agencies; predictive models of emergency scenarios; reducing hazards for first responders, providing accurate and timely hazard information for decision makers during emergencies; and development and deployment of new remote, robotic and intelligent systems to reduce hazards to personnel and the environment, to improve productivity and to reduce programmatic risk.

First responders, emergency planners, and decision makers will find the conference particularly helpful.

The conference will be held at the Hotel Albuquerque, 800 Rio Grande NW in Albuquerque’s historic Old Town.
