ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Michael Chertoff will make his first official visit to New Mexico on Friday, May 6.
He will be joined by Sen. Pete Domenici, R-N.M., and Rep. Heather Wilson, R-N.M., and will receive an overview of Sandia’s technical contributions to the nation’s homeland security efforts and demonstrations of several technologies.
Chertoff, Domenici and Wilson, accompanied by Sandia Labs Director Tom Hunter, will hold a news conference at 10 a.m. at Sandia National Laboratories’ Center for National Security and Arms Control.
Members of the news media covering the event must arrive at the Sandia Eubank contractor gate (directly south of the main Kirtland Air Force Base Eubank gate) by 8:30 a.m. for badging and escorting into Sandia’s technical area.
