Sandia re-dedicates building 898 as Pete V. Domenici National Security Innovation Center

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Labs director Paul Hommert will re-dedicate Sandia’s Weapons Integration Facility (building 898) as the Pete V. Domenici National Security Innovation Center at a ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, at the southeast corner of Sandia National Laboratories’ MESA complex on Kirtland Air Force Base.

Sen. Domenici will be joined by Congressmen Martin Heinrich (D-NM) and Steve Pearce (R-NM), and by Don Cook, NNSA Deputy Administrator for Defense Programs. N.M. Gov. Susana Martinez will also attend.

Media are welcome at the dedication ceremony on Friday, February 18 from 10:30 -11:30 a.m. Media must contact Iris Aboytes at 844-2282 prior to 8:00 a.m. on Friday, February 18, to arrange for badging and escort.

The Center houses approximately 350 Sandia staff, mostly working on weapon subsystem engineering and modeling and simulation or engineering sciences.
