ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Sandia National Laboratories is hosting a free public forum on sustainable energy Wednesday, June 28 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the University of New Mexico Continuing Education Conference Center, North Building, Room C.
Sandia’s personnel John E. Kelly, Debby Tewa, and Jose Zayas will showcase presentations with information on the topics of the background and the future potential of sustainable energy. Lectures on nuclear energy, solar energy, wind energy will be given throughout the evening.
Sandia is a National Nuclear Security Administration laboratory.
John E. Kelly is senior manager for the Advanced Nuclear Energy Programs at Sandia. He holds a Ph.D. in nuclear engineering and has more than 25 years experience at Sandia. He has managed and contributed to a wide variety of nuclear reactor safety, national security programs, and advanced energy concepts.
Debby Tewa has been working in the renewable energy field for more than 15 years and is currently a contractor in the Tribal Energy Program. She received her bachelors of science in applied indigenous studies with an emphasis in environmental management.
Jose Zayas has been at Sandia since 1996, and is a senior member of the technical staff in the Wind Energy Technology Department. He earned his master’s degree in mechanical and aeronautical engineering. He focuses on active flow control, sensors, dynamic modeling, field testing, and data acquisition systems.
Upcoming forums include topics on nonproliferation (chemical and biological) and water.
