Sandia Labs was named a winner in New Mexico Business Weekly’s New Mexico’s Healthiest Employers, an award that honors employers that support employee health and wellness. Sandia won in the large company category, for organizations with more than 1,500 employees.

Linda Duffy, director of Sandia’s Health, Benefits and Employee Services, said she’s pleased that Sandia was recognized and thanks the laboratories’ employees and executive management for their participation and support.

The announcement came at a ceremony Thursday, March 24, at the downtown Embassy Suites. Sandia was among 15 New Mexico organizations honored at the event for their commitment to their employees’ health.

“I feel like winning this award is a wonderful recognition of Sandia’s commitment to investing in the health and well-being of our employees,” Duffy said. “I believe Sandia has been a leader in employee wellness, and winning this award is a tribute to our staff of health professionals.”

Above all else, Duffy credits the Health, Benefits and Employee Services employees for the success of Sandia’s program. “I couldn’t ask for a more dedicated and passionate staff,” Duffy said.

New Mexico companies nominated themselves for award consideration and completed a survey that provided details of each company’s program, wellness culture and facilities.
