ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Scientists and researchers from Sandia National Laboratories will offer up a first-hand look at virtual and augmented reality technology during a special event at Explora.
Everyone from kids, families and STEM enthusiasts are invited to step into the world of extended reality, or XR, and witness cutting-edge technologies coming to life.
Participants will be able to immerse themselves into interactive demonstrations that blend the realms of science, technology, engineering and mathematics with the wonders of virtual, augmented and mixed reality. Activities include exploring a model of the Curiosity rover, touring the Mars Gale Crater, interacting with Sandia’s Gemini-Scout Mine Rescue Vehicle, communicating with artificial intelligence, observing molecules in virtual reality, peering into a holographic display and much more.
Experts and innovators will be available to guide participants through the demonstrations, explain the hardware and software behind each experience, answer questions and expand their knowledge and understanding of XR and its potential applications across various industries.
